Small Molecules Part 1: Screening Strategies for Today's Tough Targets: Maximizing Diversity in Chemical Matter

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Today's tough targets require new screening technologies to identify novel chemical matter, a blend of functional and structural approaches to interrogate targets in orthogonal assays, and a diverse collection of chemical matter. Traditionally, small molecules of ~ 500 MW and large molecules eg antibodies of ~ 150000 MW have been the focus of drug discovery and development. The need for middle molecules spanning this MW range and with appropriate drug properties is a challenge and opportunity. In this talk, screening strategies, technologies and follow-up assays will be discussed as they are applied to examples of tough targets.
