Biospecimen banking as a discipline has come a long way in the last decade. But, because technologies and the discipline have lagged behind that of small molecule sample management, biobanking projects have unique challenges. We’ll explore the highlights and low lights of biobanking versus small molecule banking, legacy versus brand new biospecimen banking, with an emphasis on IT, technology and sample annotation.
